Maca is a root vegetable that grows high in the Peruvian Andes. The maca root is also known as the "ginseng (medicinal Chinese root) of the Andes". The Maca carrots are dried and ground into powder so that you can make delicious smoothies or have a gorgeous breakfast like oatmeal with maca. The taste, is described as caramel, vanilla or malt-like. The recommended daily allowance for organic maca powder is 3-5 grams per day.
